William E. "Ed" Carl age 69 of Big Hill Road, died Friday at St. Joseph Berea Hospital.

Ed was born in Jackson County to the late William and Martha Carl. He was retired from Gibson Greeting Card Company.

He is survived by his wife Freda Pearson Carl; two Sons Johnny (Regina) Carl and Harrial (Becky) Carl; three brothers Faron (Joyce) Carl, Raymond (Judy) Carl and James (Barbara) Carl; one sister Vivian (Eugene) Madden; 5 grandchildren John Carl, Jennifer Carl, Christina (Steven) Rausch, Chastity (Brian) Fryer and Daniel Carl; 6 great grandchildren Kaitlyn Rausch, Meagan Rausch, Vanessa Victoria Carl, Angel Carl, Ashton Carl and Jessica Fryer.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son Donald Carl and two brothers Larry and Ellie Carl.

Funeral Services will be 1 pm Tuesday September 4, 2007 at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea with Bro. Cecil Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Monday at Lakes Funeral Home.
